Through the witness of Jesus we hold fast to the truth that God loves us in our weakness and fragility, in our sickness and suffering. We can see a reflection of God’s care in the commitment of doctors, nurses, healers, hospital chaplains and all the people who tend to the suffering of others. They are God’s compassion in flesh, God’s care in motion.

Sacrament of Confirmation 2012
The preparations for Confirmation commence shortly, and imminent is the opening meeting for the parents of the candidates. My profound apology for the late notice of this, and I hope you will accommodate it, but it will take place tomorrow, Monday 6th February at 7.00pm in the parish room. The first meeting for the candidates will be on Monday 20th February also at 7.00pm in the parish room. If there are any young people in year eight or above, and who wish to be Confirmed this year please sign up on the list provided in the porch. This year the Confirmation Mass will be held in St Teresa’s Church, Wilmslow.
First Holy Communion
The enrolment Mass for the First Holy Communion children will take place today Sunday 5th February at 11.00am. The programme of preparation has been published and we are invited to keep all those involved in our prayers during this time of special blessing. Coffee will be served in the parish room after the Mass.
Sacrament of Baptism
The Sacrament is celebrated on Sundays at 12.30pm by prior arrangement, or on request, during a Sunday Mass. When requesting a baptism, please obtain a form and return it when complete. Our prayers and good wishes are extended to the families of Luca Frankie Green and Annie Maria Lomas who are to be baptised here today.
Baptism Preparation
One of the most helpful and beneficial contributions to parish life has been the excellent support given to parents who are requesting baptism for their children. It is something which is valued greatly, and we would benefit from some additional help if there are any parishioners who might be interested in this area of parish life. Please have a word with me if you are interested in supporting parents preparing to have their child baptised.
Mass Intentions
Requests on how to have a Mass offered for a particular intention or individual are made occasionally, and a reminder may prove helpful. Please put your request in writing if possible and specify a date if preferred, and your request may met.
Sacrament of Penance
The Sacrament is celebrated this week after Mass on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Mass to Celebrate Marriage
A Diocesan Mass to celebrate Marriage will take place in St Wilfrid’s Northwich on Saturday 11th February at 2.00pm. The Bishop will officiate.
East Cheshire Hospice
A Coffee Moring in support of the Hospice will be held on Saturday 25th February from 10am-12noon at St John’s Church, Knutsford. You are most welcome.
Parish Room
The room is available for hire on an occasional basis, by completing a booking form, available from the presbytery, and satisfying the criteria for use.
Certificates of Baptism
Should you require one, for example, to accompany school admissions, please put your request in writing, with an sae and the certificate will be sent to you.
Pre-School
Can any parent who would like their child to attend St Vincent’s Pre-school before September 2014, please visit their website at www.stvincentspreschool.co.uk to download and complete an application form. Thank you.
Going into Hospital
If you go into hospital, or are planning to do so, and would like a chaplain’s visit, please let your priest know directly. You may do this prior to admission, or on admission, by asking the Ward sister to make contact on your behalf.
Thank You
For last week’s Offertory; (Diocese of Shrewsbury is a Registered Charity).
